Woodland Blacksmithing Weekend
We are delighted to be able to offer a full weekend of blacksmithing set in our private woodland smithy in Basingstoke.
The weekend is led by the talented Tom Toogood from Longdog Smithy, where you will be under professional and experienced instruction throughout your stay.
Throughout your weekend you will learn the fundamentals of the Smithy as well as basic forging techniques and tools of the trade.
You will move and shape both iron and steel to achieve functional tools as well as artistic pieces, although the journey to becoming a master blacksmith takes many years, when taught by one you will soon be on a straight path to achieving a competent level of the craft.
What you will craft:
Camping Tripods, Hooks
Traditional Flint and steel
The weekend is very intense and consists of lots of physical activity as well as a lot of fire so we recommend that you are in a good state of health and fitness.
You will be accommodated over the weekend in the way of staying in our stunning private woodland site, all course materials as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided.
What you will need:
A suitable tent or hammock
A sleeping bag
Any personal medications and toiletries.
Washing and toilet facilities on site.
This course is very limited to a maximum number of 5 students.

Finish date/ Time: 17.00 Sunday
We have set a deposit option for this course this will be required to secure your place and full payment will be required two weeks prior to course start date.
